The Long Nights - A Poem

The Summer evenings draw out
Long and warm and quiet as
The breath of a calm man
His eyes fluttering closed as the
Stillness descends on his limbs
Heartbeat slowing, pulse steadying
Breath stilling, deepening
You're gonna love this
They say
As the neurons fire slower
Currents flowing down neurons like
Molasses, taking the long, slow,
Easy route from the brain
So easy to just let go
Moth fluttering slowly on the window pane
In front of you, large brown grey wings
Beating on the glass
Darkening outside
Light turning to grey
Blue deepening to midnight blue
Slowly
Calmly
Natural order of things
Like the calm settling in your bones
An old friend come to visit
Bringing pleasure as the
Serotonin rises slowly in
Your bloodstream
Deepening into light
Never been like this before
So good
So good
So deeply good
Down it goes as levels of calm
Release muscle tensions
Face muscles neck
Shoulders going next each muscle
Group loosening
Flesh yielding to peace with each outbreath
Feeling the tensions leave you like
Black clouds out your mouth
Light coming in as you
Breathe in now and hold
Hold
High note of your lungs
Waiting for the time to
Exhale now
Let that breath out
Last of the tensions going
Chest and arms relaxing
Upper abdomen releasing tension next
Next next inbreath pushing down the
Dark tensions filling your body with light
Lower abdomen now releasing
Light in all parts of your body
Above the hip as
You now feel the tensions leaving your
Hips and relaxation creeping down your thighs
Knees to the calves
So good
Reaching the feet
Draw in one breath now and hold
Hold
Hold ...
Now let go
Let it all go
Free your mind
All your body now light
Drifting
Floating free descending into light
And back you go into your
Seat as you face the final
Surrender and you are drifting in
A warm, light place
Safe and warm and so good
To be there in the place where
You have let go and you
Close your eyes and find
Yourself nowhere
Sleep in your mind
Sleep in your body as evening
Closes in on you and all
Is night at last
And warm balmy silence
And darkness now.

You want to explore this peace now.
See how far you can take it.
Count down now, from nine.
I bet you won't get to 1
Before you complete your journey
Into sleep.

So hard to make the next number form in your mind. All you want to do is let this peaceful relaxation come over you, like surrendering to a narcotic drug, like listening to the rain beat on the window a few inches from your face in your favourite room, where you are safest, where you are most comfortable, where you are free to be yourself, and all the outside world is dark, only the beating rain and the dark and the silence, letting your body relax into warmth and sprawling, uncaring about who sees you or your attire, the way you are dressed when there is nobody at home, loose clothing, warm, your hands caressing your body, you don't care if anybody is seeing you out there in the darkness, your hands roaming, light finger strokes, slow rhythmic pressure there, you know that feels so good.

And what your other hand is doing now, that is such a pleasure that you want to do that over and over, letting waves of pleasure course through your entire body, you feel it with every part of your body, there is no question that you deserve this, as you reach for that part of your body now where the nerve endings are throbbing and something is building in you and it is happening now.

And you want to tell me about it, so now email me and tell me what you are doing. Mark the subject line with "What is thy bidding, O Master?" as you respond, and keep exploring your pleasure as you type, and once you have sent the email, continue to your pleasure and then, when you have reached your peak, relax your whole body once again and settle in your chair and let go, let go as consciousness flees and all that is left for you is the afterglow and sleep.
